Meg McDevitt, Folktale, 11 x 14" (2017)

Silkscreen

Inspired by drawings of her sculptural forms, this print takes on a unique kind of dimensionality by using transparent white inks that are given loft when laid on top of darker layers. The luminous quality of these white layers become obvious when the lights shifts. This allows the movement and perspective of the viewer to activate the piece in a manner similar to that of a sculptural piece.

Meg McDevitt has lived and worked in Vermont for over 20 years. She is a graduate of Cooper Union and The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

Her drawings and sculpture has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
